Lattice Blue

Exploring material transformation that occurs through an oxidation process, which is time-based alchemical reaction that occurs as materials are exposed to air, water, and other elements. This drawing unfolds a crystalline, lattice-like structure through an oxidation process using indigo pigment, water and rock salt. As the pigment oxidized on the surface, it left behind a grid-like field of woven, shifting blue tonalities.
