Transitional Object (2019)

Transitional Object is a moving image sculptural piece comprised of a reclaimed industrial door. Originally a massive architectural divider, the panel is reimagined as a site of psychological and physical passage. The surface, muted with white paint and graphite, masks its history while the central aperture offers a voyeuristic return.

The work extends beyond the physical boundaries of the door, with graphite marks and a white painted horizon line bleeding onto the gallery walls. This site-specific intervention dissolves the edge of the sculpture, integrating it into the architecture. By looking through the peephole, the viewer encounters a digital memory of the door's transformation and a dancing figure, turning a heavy, static barrier into a fluid, living portal between the object’s past and its present.
