Love like Salt

Performative photographs 2013

Love Like Salt is a sequence of 11 keyframe digital performative photographs that explore the act of looking, transformation, and the threshold between movement and image, using objects and digital photographic intervention of long exposure. The body is in relation, the body is in transformation, revealing the tension of stillness versus motion, mineral fixity versus bodily dissolution — performing transformation in the interval, registered in the threshold of the digital camera lens, in light qualities, aspirational. The title commemorates and carries the meaning of salt: salt preserves, but it also corrodes and burns wounds.
