screendance projection, sound, moving-image sculptures, holographic film, rug, wood, drum, mirrors, and prisms, interactive AR audiovisual, live performance.
"Variations on Broken Lines" is an ongoing performative mixed reality (MR) installation that delves into performative modes of archiving, addressing identity, memory, and the liminal space between the mediated and live, as well as the physical and virtual realms. In its third iteration, the project has been further developed to enhance audience engagement, with the installation incorporating both mediated and real-time performances in collaboration with performers and small audience groups in February 2023 at Lamashu Artspace in Toronto.
The installation event featured a collaborative performance where artists activate the objects and sound within the installation, creating an interactive experience for the audience. Additionally, an augmented reality interactive audiovisual environment is integrated into the physical installation. Visitors can access this environment using a dedicated app on their mobile devices.
