In an era where transnationalism and technology continue to shape human and non-human mobility, borders—whether national, digital, symbolic, or embodied—remain central to contemporary experiences of identity, displacement, and power. As networks of movement and communication expand, the notion of a “borderless world” has both intensified and become more complex. Borders are simultaneously solidified and rendered porous—raising urgent questions about the politics of inclusion, exclusion, and transformation. Borders are not static lines but active processes of “bordering”—practices and processes that delineate visibility, belonging, and otherness. How can we rethink the politics and aesthetics of borders? How do borders emerge as shifting generative forces, enacted through bodies, platforms, and networks? We invite scholars, artists, and researchers across disciplines to explore the border as a political tool, conceptual device, and aesthetic gesture. We seek papers, artistic projects, and research-creation works that examine bordering practices across material, technological, and affective dimensions—challenging, reconfiguring, or reimagining these acts in contemporary society.
